- Native American/Indian girl costume help!?
So i was thinking of being a native american indian girl for halloween this year but i wasn't sure how to do it. I don't really like the store costumes for it. I want to do it simple and hopefully cheap so I was wondering what you think i should buy/wear to make it a cute nat amer indian girl costume. I'm a freshman in high school so i don't want anything slutty so don't be gross please. Thanks :) To the first person that answered: I wasn't trying to be racist...I'm Native american too (Cherokee). I'm not making fun of them. Wearing the "ghetto costume" like you suggested would be. And they have costumes for it at Party city, so don't blame me, I just thought it'd be cute..sorry if i offended Ok now you're offending. I am Cherokee.. I used to get letters from my school saying I can get free lunch programs (I don't need them though) because my records show that i AM cherokee. Don't get mad at me just because you're angry about what happened in the 1800's or whatever. It's over and done with and people dont treat native americans badly like they treat other races and cultures badly.

A YOU are NOT Cherokee (you are just another white girl with a story about a cherokee great grandmother) You are NOT a part of any tribe or you would get your butt kicked for even thinking about doing something so racist and offensive. It's not cute. It's not funny. It is sick, disgusting and WRONG. Do NOT do this.

- is dressing like an indian for halloween racist?
My friend and I both have horses, so we thought that it would be fun to paint our horses like indian horses and dress up like indains. We would never try to offend anyone at all. We would try to be as accurate and respecetful to indian culture, so our horses would have circles around their eyes and dots and a hand print on their back rump. We would maybe also put some feathers in their hair. We would have on a poncho and ugg boots(we don't have indian boots) and have our hair in braids. We would wear black or brown leggings for pants and we would dress very modestly and not show any skin like some native american costumes do. Our costumes are very simple and modest, but are not as fancy and detailed as real native american indian costumes. Would some poeple find this offensive? Also, do you have any tips for makingn our costumes an "accurate reanacment" of past native americans and not an innacurate steryotype costume if you do think that it's ok to dress like native american indains? In history class we have been watching movies about native american indians and i love their relationships with their horses and their clothing, i'm not disrespecting them in any way.

A I'm dressing up as a Punk Rock Fairy for Halloween, and I'm American Indian, so I can't say anything to you. However, I don't even own the first costume of my tribe. I don't look good in rick-rack and calico and I refuse to wear an apron, so what do I know?

hey! so, Im taking babe (my 6 year old clyde mare) to a fair on october first. Im going to enter our first costume class, just for fun. (and the fact that you win money too :D ) But I need ideas for great costumes! Id be riding her, in english tack, just a saddle and bridle, no breastplate or anything. I could go bareback maybe too, but would prefer the saddle, as even though she is a solid sensible horse, it will probobly only be her 4th or 5th show ever. I love purple, we have a purple halter and lead, purple saddle pad and half chaps. I love sparkles and glitter, I will do totally crazy costumes, like, ones that cover her whole body and stuff. she is a good horse, wont spook at it, plus id try it all on beffore the show, so she is comfortable with it. here are some things that i DONT WANT - NO clowns - no swimmer beach type thig - NO cowboy/indian thing -nothing too generic my sister can sew, and can help with the costume. there is a budget though, it cant be too outragouse. oh, and here is some info about babe, just so you know her personality a little more. she is super sweet, and friendly, loves people, loves attention. she loves to try and mooch off you, but in a cute friendly way. Ive never seen her pin her ears at a human, in all 3 years of ownership. she is cuddly, and has a way of getting anyone to love her. she is almost 17 hands too. and her show name, is sweet as Honey. thanks!

I'm being and indian for Halloween and I already have my costume but I want to make it somehow scary or creepy. I have knee high tie up moccasins, a brown dress type thing with the fringe, an arm band, a feather, and some fur type things for my arms (my Halloween party is outside). Can girl indians wear war paint?

- Pappu Can't Dance Performance - Costume help!?
Hey y'all. I'm a high school senior. In about a few weeks time, UN day is coming up, so we Indians are performing "Pappu". Thing is, we have no idea what to wear as our costumes. We are a group of about 15 girls, and what we have decided is the same pattern but different color for each person. Initially, we thought of haram pants and a tight top, but are unsure right now. A go for satin short skirt with full sleeves satin shirt , a satin scarf if possible & live ur hairs don't tie them & put glares on top of ur head. this is the best, b'coz i myself hav performed & hav got round of applaud to the performance

A I work at a costume shop in Renton, WA and we have a few Thai dancer costumes. They aren't the same style as in your video, though. The ones that we have are purple and gold. The pants that these gals are wearing are a style that was around in the 1980's, so there's a chance you might find a vintage pattern.

- Homemade Indian costume for college?
k well halloweens a few days away.. and im gunna be an indian (native american) so far im wearing moccasins, a bandana with a feather taped on the back inside so it sticks out, and i guess eyeliner as like tribal markings or whatever.. i dont really know what else to do... any ideas? i could also just dress semi normally and just BS and call myself a 'modern' native american, with all the stuff i also posted. ps im in college so its hard to get supplies, and im also a guy. thanks

me and three friends are going to be indian girls for halloween. We are 13 and 14 years old. Were skinny (like not fat so we can fit into stuff). And we always go all out for halloween! so any ideas will help. We dont really want to buy stuff, but we can buy like little cheap things like we were thinking about buying a cheap plain white target T and tea stain it and then cut it or something. A Do you mean Indian as in girls from India or Native Americans? I was a girl from India one year and I got lots of complements :) I bought a sari and used lipstick for a bindi(red dot on forehead) Saris are really pretty and bright so that might be a good idea.

A Alice in wonderland. just get a white apron and tie the waist but tuck the top part in so that it is just the bottom half showing or tie a pillowcase around your waist, if you don't want to keep the apron/pillowcase afterwards you can draw or sew a little heart, a club, a spade and a diamond shapes on the bottom. A skirt and blouse, or a dress (preferably blue), and long knee-high stripy socks and black shoes. then leave your hair loose and put in a hairband/ aliceband. hi all! i have a question about what to wear if i want to be an indian warrior for halloween. i am thinking moccasins, war paint, headdress, and bow and arrow or tomahawk, but i need help on my pants/shirt or dress (since i am a girl). i don't want to spend too much money but i still want to look cute and not skank-y. i am also ok with diy costumes as long as they are not overly complicated.

A i'm native American and i have full regalia and dance at pow wows. if u want to look the part and not spend a whole lot of money get a large t shirt that maybe comes to your knees or a little shorter (its what you prefer) fringe the edges, add some beads. and put a belt around your middle it will look authentic and wont be skanky looking. also women didn't wear headdresses we wore braid wraps in our hair instead.
