- How can I put together a Pocahontas Halloween costume from things that I already have or are fairly cheap?
I'm thinking thats what I want to be, but I'm not sure how to go about it! Any help is appreciated!

A I actually did this for this past Halloween. We just went to a used clothing store and find either a plain beige dress or long skirt that you could make into a strapless dress, or find beige capris and a beige crop top or something...I know sounds bland for now.... Take it home and trip everything to the lenghts you need it...don't worry about hemming because it is not supposed to look perfect. If you have the time you can sew colourful beads (can pick them up at a dollar store) around the edges or in interesting patterns (search the web for suggestions on native bead work). If you are going with Disney's version get/make a thick blue necklace and keep your hair down and straight...other versions have the hair in different kinds of braids (often just two, one down each side). You may also choose to kind of go the Tigerlily (from Peter Pan) route and have a headband with a feather in it. Moccasins are a great touch too but they can be expensive. Oh, and if you can do a henna type arm band (see Disney's version). And stay away from the make-up or at least make it look like you did.
